Go to the far end of the garden and the tiled roof extension really sticks out, for all the right reasons. As you get closer to it, the bi-folding doors become most apparent, which you can glide and fold away when you enter into the extension. The high-pitched roof makes it feel very spacious internally, with the roof windows also playing a role in that. The sun also gets in via the front-facing window.

This isn’t just a daytime location either. It gets used for various purposes at night too, with the downlighters in the ceiling offering a means of illumination. It’s a very soft light that comes out of them, but it is more than sufficient to make the whole interior perfectly fit. Careful selection was needed for the right kind of brickwork for the extension, as well as an authentic roof, so that the extension fitted in effortlessly with the rest of the building. When the weather is at its wildest, not a bit of it can be felt inside and that’s down to the roof’s insulation. Bigger isn’t always better, not when compact extensions are this good.
