There’s always a surprise in people’s faces when we inform them that we use aluminium to fashion our bi-folding doors. They know it to be extremely tough, and they’re right. However, it’s actually ridiculously simple to mould and shape. With not too much effort, you can develop supremely slim aluminium door profiles, exactly what’s needed for a bi-fold. Bi-folding doors are almost everywhere you look in this house, where we installed a series of them to give the occupants the inviting home atmosphere they longed for.

Two separate sides of the building can be opened out with the use of the perfect pair of bi-folds. Because they interlink the kitchen with the external decking, you can probably guess that a lot of outdoor eating goes on here during the summer months. If you fully extend the bi-fold openings and also push out the bottom opening windows at the same time, you get a true outdoor feel, indoors. Away from the bi-folds, patio doors and French doors have also been given a permanent home upstairs, with the latter offering a route to the balcony. You don’t often see so many bi-folds in one home, but they have added so much and proved worthy of the investment.
