There was a time when timber-built windows were the only option available, up until the point when UPVC windows started being produced. Timber windows have many flaws, but you do have to admit that they have a look and charm all of their own. You can get that same look and charm by having UPVC windows coloured in a Golden Oak finish, as happened when we undertook a replacement window project at this home. Visitors can barely believe it when told that they’re made from UPVC, and they also think the new door is constructed from timber too.
Whoever occupies the bedroom with the French doors, surely take every chance they get to open them and take in the spellbinding view. The composite door in the front entranceway is designed just as exquisitely and the detail in the window frames is thorough, to say the least. Zoom into the window frames and you would swear blind they were timber. Separate to the bedroom, two sets of French doors were also installed on the lower floor so that accessibility to the garden was greatly enhanced. If you had to pick out our own personal highlight, it would have to be the made-to-measure UPVC window upstairs – it demonstrates window craftsmanship at its very best.
